Ten of Swords Meaning Tarot Disassembled by Jennifer Steidley of Ferocious Ink
Ten of Swords from Tarot Disassembled by Jennifer Steidley of Ferocious Ink

Tarot Card of the Month: 10 of Swords

The Ten of Swords has a rather disturbing image, but it brings about a powerful antidote to something happening in one’s life. As with all cards numbered 10, it signifies that something is coming together or to a close. While the card can indicate a betrayal, being stabbed in the back, an existential crisis, painful ending or loss; it more often than not tends to be giving up or surrendering out of sheer exhaustion. Being the suit of swords, it’s the weight within the mind that has become too much to carry; after all, we can be our own worst enemy. The antidote to this sometimes painful weight and subsequent take down is hidden in the card itself; let go and surrender. It’s like a band aid that needs to just be ripped off so that the wound can be cleaned.

Affirmation*: I move smoothly and effortlessly into my new, amazing chapter

Journaling prompt*: What am I ready to let go of once and for all?

Sugilite is a stone of purification and protection from negative influences and attachments through the Violet Flame. It has the power to activate the Crown Chakra in a way that one is able to remember their spiritual purpose and walk their path as a conduit of Divine Light. With the ability to increase your inner vision, psychic awareness, and self actualization, it is a great stone for working with during meditation and dream work. This greater receptivity to Divine Light and awareness gives one strength and courage to manifest their dreams, and to restore hope and optimism for a better future.

Symbolism of the pomegranate meaning
Pomegranate from Tarot Assembled by Jennifer Steidley of Ferocious Ink

Sacred Symbol of the Month: Pomegranate

The pomegranate is a symbol of fertility, marriage, wisdom and the greater mysteries, sacrifice and yielding to temptation. In Greece the pomegranate is associated with Hera, Aphrodite and Persephone; the priests of Demeter at Eleusis wore branches of pomegranate. In Rome, the branches were worn as headdresses for married women. In India, pomegranate juice is consumed to combat being or becoming barren. On a more spiritual level, the pomegranate is Divine perfection and the symbol of a mystic.

Angel Number of the Month: 136

Your prayers and requests for help with your material needs have been heard and answered. All you have to do is keep your thoughts focused on your dreams, and release and fears to the ascended masters.

Sacred Herbs & Plants of the Month: Vervain

Vervain, more commonly called Verbena in the states, is one of the most sacred plants around the world and across cultures. It is associated with Venus, the elements of earth, and numerous deities such as Venus, Isis, Jupiter and Juno. The ancient Egyptians believed that Isis wept vervain tears in the mourning of her beloved Osiris. Priests in ancient Rome used Vervain to cleanse the altars of Jupiter with miniature fastened branch hand brooms. The Druids used crowns of vervain during initiations of females, and Magicians use(d) them for protection when invoking spirits. Known as the “herb of the cross”, vervain was used to pack and cleanse the wounds of Jesus after the crucifixion. Hippocrates used it to treat plague. It is often carried as an amulet, worn as a crown, used in ritual baths, and placed in the home or on an altar for purification, protection, prosperity, love and peace, and psychic insight. Vervain is so sacred and well known that it even hit pop culture radar and was featured as the kryptonite of vampires in the Vampire Diaries.
